There are no formal prerequisites for this course, but it is assumed that learners have existing knowledge of grid-connected PV and battery systems. They may have completed a Grid-Connected PV Systems and a Grid-Connected Battery Systems course, hold corresponding SAA accreditation, or have applicable industry experience across residential and commercial systems.

This module covers work health and safety as a planning discipline in C&I solar construction. You’ll work through safe work method statements, site controls, lifting and access, weather and rescue planning, live-site interfaces, and the requirements around planned shutdowns on critical infrastructure.

This course covers the following topics:

1. Safe Work Planning: SWMS and Site Inductions
2. Site Controls: Traffic, Waste, Exclusion Zones, and Compliance
3. Lifting and Access: Equipment Selection and Lift Planning
4. Weather, Rescue, and Edge Protection
5. Managing Live-Site Interfaces and After-Hours Work
6. Planned Shutdowns and Critical Infrastructure

Learners will receive a GSES certificate of completion stating they have completed the ‘Commercial & Industrial Solar and BESS Series, Module 3: WHS & Construction Planning’ course. This course is eligible for 20 CPD points with the Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA).

A computer, laptop, table, or phone with reliable internet access is required.
