This module covers electrical design decisions that determine how a C&I solar or BESS system connects to and operates within a site’s existing network. You’ll work through point of connection selection, metering boundaries, protection coordination, interface protection, the Victorian Emergency Backstop Mechanism, and network compliance requirements.
This course is eligible for 20 CPD points with the Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA).
Prerequisites
There are no formal prerequisites for this course, but it is assumed that learners have existing knowledge of grid-connected PV and battery systems. They may have completed a Grid-Connected PV Systems and a Grid-Connected Battery Systems course, hold corresponding SAA accreditation, or have applicable industry experience across residential and commercial systems.

Training Outcome
Learners will receive a GSES certificate of completion stating they have completed the ‘Commercial & Industrial Solar and BESS Series, Module 5: Electrical Design, Point of Connection & Protection’ course. This course is eligible for 20 CPD points with the Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA).
