The AS/NZS 5139:2019 standard covers the safe installation of battery systems. It is the first AS/NZS standard to focus explicitly on battery safety, marking a significant step toward ensuring the safe deployment of battery energy storage systems (BESS). Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for this course, but it is assumed that students have existing knowledge of battery energy storage systems. They may have completed a Grid-Connected Battery Systems or Stand-Alone Power Systems course, hold an SAA accreditation or have applicable industry experience across residential and commercial battery systems.
Training Outcome
Students will receive a GSES certificate of completion stating they have completed the AS/NZS 5139:2024 Short Course.
This course is eligible for 20 CPD points with the Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA), valid until 5th November 2026.
Materials and Equipment
A computer, laptop, table, or phone with reliable internet access. It is also recommended to have access to the AS/NZS 5139:2019 standard to reference while doing the course.

Duration
This online course is self-paced. We estimate it may take approximately 2 hours to complete, however this can vary. Course access is valid for 12 months.
Cancellation and Refunds
