About this Project
GSES was selected to perform system compliance inspections and performance evaluations at three remote island sites across Fiji; Kadavu 225kW, Rotuma 153kW and Lakeba 153kW. Owners Engineer testing was conducted on behalf of international UAE donor Masdar and local design and installation company Clay Energy.

The existing local grid on each island was supplied by one or more diesel generators. The new power generation system was installed as a PV and diesel hybrid system.
GSES provided Owner Engineer compliance and testing services, inspecting the system as per Australian Standards AS5033, AS3000 and AS4777. The system was tested to IEC620364, IEC62446 and IEC61724. Testing involved monitoring and measuring performance parameters to determine the system performance ratio, system availability, inverter efficiency, string efficiency and system losses.
