Non-Electrician Pathway This pathway is for electrical engineers to get SAA Design Only Accreditation. The pathway is as follows, where the previous course serves as the prerequisite to the next. A student aiming to do Grid-Connected Battery Storage systems will first have to do Electrical Principles then Grid-Connected PV systems in that order. → → → Electrical Engineers can do the “exam” version of the electrical principles course which serves as recognition of prior learning (RPL) to do the Grid Connected PV course. SAA accreditation requires all non electricians including electrical engineers to complete Electrical Principles (UEERE0051). Skipping courses: Students can also do batteries and stand-alone power systems straight after electrical principles, however this pathway does not give you accreditation in the prior courses and requires significantly more work. If you require grid connected PV systems after taking this pathway you will have to do the entire grid connected PV systems course again, this is not recommended. Non-Electrician Pathway This pathway is for students without any electrical background to get SAA Design Only Accreditation. The pathway is as follows, where the previous course serves as the prerequisite to the next.
