Congratulations on deciding to have renewable energy installed at your property.
This webpage has been made to help provide some information about the program, especially surrounding the involvement of GSES.
The Queensland Government has engaged Global Sustainable Energy Solutions Pty Ltd (GSES) to conduct solar inspections for the Queensland Government Supercharged Solar for Renters (SSFR) program & Queensland Community Housing Energy Upgrades (QCHEU). These inspections are aimed at ensuring safe and compliant equipment and installation practices are being implemented across the state.
Who is the inspectorate, Global Sustainable Energy Solutions (GSES)?

About the Inspections
Customer Agreement:
By applying for the SSFR & QCHEU program, you have agreed to undergo a safety inspection of your new system. This inspection is a crucial step in ensuring that your system meets all necessary safety, compliance, and industry best practice standards.
Inspection Scope:
For the SSFR inspection program, our certified inspectors will thoroughly examine your PV system installed on the roof as well as the inverter and switchboard, assessing safety, compliance with regulations, and adherence to industry best practices. For the QCHEU inspection program, our inspectors will be more focused on the energy efficiency upgrades that made the most of the QCHEU rebate. Our goal is to identify any potential risks or areas for improvement to enhance the safety and performance of your system.
Your Role:
We kindly request your cooperation during the inspection process. Please ensure access to your PV system, along with any documentation provided by your installer, is available to our inspectors on the scheduled inspection date. Your participation is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of the inspection process.
How does the inspection program work?
Step 1 – Installation complete & rebate claim finalised
Once your installation has been completed and your rebate claim finalised, GSES will contact you to schedule a time for the free inspection of your new solar system. You don’t need to do anything to start this process.
GSES will ask you to confirm your details and details of the system. We will send you a text message confirming the booking before the inspection is to happen as a reminder. Please remember to keep any documentation given to you by the Installer handy on the day of the inspection.
Should you require to reschedule your inspection, please contact GSES on 02 9024 5312.
Step 2 – Inspection Day
At least one adult needs to be home at the time of the inspection. Please ensure access to your PV system, along with any documentation provided by your installer, is available to our inspectors on the scheduled inspection date.
The inspector will have an official ID card to identify themselves on the day of inspection. You will not be asked to provide payment for this service.
If you have any pets, please ensure that they are secured. Inspectors will not enter the premises if it is not safe for them to do so.
If during the inspection, the inspector considers there may be a safety risk to a person or the property due to the solar installation, they must make the system safe immediately. They will inform all interested parties including the property owner and authorities.
Step 3 – Following an Inspection
The Inspectorate will communicate the inspection outcome with your Approved Installer and request that any identified issues be rectified within a given timeframe. You may be contacted by your Approved Installer to organise a time for them to come back to the property to work on your system.
You should not be invoiced by your Approved Installer for any rectification work that is completed.
Step 4 – Finalisation of Inspection Outcome
Once all rectification work (if required) is complete you will receive a letter from the Inspectorate informing you of the outcome of the inspection.
Full inspection reports may be provided upon request and where required for legal reasons.
Frequently Asked Questions
I received this email but have not been contacted, what should I do?
It may take us a couple of weeks to reach out to each home owner; we appreciate your patience in the meantime. If you believe that we have the wrong contact details, please reply to the email, or give us a call on 02 9024 5312.
I have been contacted about another inspection being done by CER, do I need both?
The CER runs yearly inspections on recently installed solar systems at a federal level. These inspections focus on compliance of the solar system and are voluntary. The SSFR inspection is a compulsory inspection that you have agreed on when you signed up for the rebate. The focus of this inspection is to ensure that the solar installation adheres to industry best practices and safety.
Do I need to be home for the inspection?
An adult must be home at the time of the inspection to give the inspector access to the switchboard and to the roof.
Can I reschedule the inspection?
Yes. If you need to reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can communicate with the inspector assigned to your area.
Can I refuse the inspection?
No. You have agreed to have this inspection when you signed up to the rebate. If you have concerns about the inspection or any other safety concerns, please contact us.
Are the inspectors carrying any identification with them?
Yes. The inspectors will have a digital GSES ID card with their name and photo. If you have any concerns, please feel free to call us on 07 3185 5020 and we can verify the inspector’s identity.
