GSES guidelines

Besides physical books and e-books, GSES has also developed and contributed to many guidelines for Kenya, Uganda, ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) and the Pacific. All guidelines were developed by donos funds, and hence, are available free of charge.

Sixteen guidelines were developed thorough the Pacific through Sustainable Energy Industry Development Project (SEIDP). The guidelines are jointly owned by Pacific Power Association (Project Implementation Agency) and SEIAPI and have been developed for the members of the two associations.

Note that these guidelines are not updated often and do not include local standards and codes.

The guidelines include the following titles:

  • Utility case studies on RE & BESS
  • Solar Water Heaters – Selection and Installation Guidelines
  • SCADA System Guidelines
  • Micro-Hydro Power – System Install Guidelines
  • Hybrid Power Systems (PV and Fuelled generator) – System Design and Installation Guidelines
  • Grid-Connected PV Systems with Battery Storage Systems Design Guidelines
  • Grid-Connected PV Systems with Battery Storage Systems Installation Guidelines
  • Utility-Scale Grid Energy Storage Guidelines
  • Off Grid PV Power Systems – System Installation Guidelines
  • Off Grid PV Power Systems – System Design Guidelines
  • Grid-Connected PV Power Systems – System Installation Guidelines
  • Grid-Connected PV Power Systems – System Design Guidelines
  • Grid-Connected PV Operations and Maintenance Guidelines
  • Energy Efficiency – Residential and Small Commercial Applications Guidelines
  • Solar Water Pumping: Selection and Installation Guidelines
