This interactive online course provides a structured approach to understanding the step by step considerations of a utility scale PV project. The course presents information on the following areas:
An overview of the main steps involved in the process of establishing a solar project;
Why a utility scale solar project might be an attractive project;
The various stakeholders that may be involved in the process and their varied interests;
The technology involved in a utility scale project, such as central inverters; and
Operation and maintenance considerations.
Delivery is online comprising video content, theory, and short quizzes. Tutor support is available if required.
This online course is self-paced. We estimate it may take approximately 6-8 hours to complete, however this can vary. Course access is valid for 12 months.

They may have completed the Grid-Connected PV System Design or Install course, hold a Clean Energy Council Grid-Connect accreditation or have applicable industry experience in rooftop PV systems.
A computer, laptop, tablet, or phone with reliable internet access.
Outcome of Successful Completion
Students will receive a GSES certificate of completion stating they have completed the Utility Scale Solar course. Upon completion, CEC (Clean Energy Council) accredited designers/installers will be eligible for 30 CPD points.
