Training and Trade Certification

GSES provides training, and training resources for Solar PV, and related technologies and trades in Australia as well as internationally. This training may also allow those trained to be eligible for accreditation to work with Solar PV in their respective trades.

Australia

Why GSES Training?

GSES is recognised as Australia’s leading renewable energy training and education provider. In all instances, the training offered meets the accreditation requirements of the Australian Clean Energy Council (CEC) and the international Institute for Sustainable Power (ISP). Our affiliation with ISP extends our knowledge network and training standards beyond local boundaries ensuring students have access to the widest and most current reference material and practical training.

This is further supported by GSES’s continued involvement with relevant industry associations, Australian training and educational committees at both University and TAFE levels. Our certified training courses and systems are licensed to and used by Australian TAFE institutions and private training providers.

As an Australian RTO, all GSES training courses are developed and conducted according to nationally recognised competency standard. Course trainers are tertiary qualified and hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Our Solar PV training courses are designed specifically for electricians to attain accreditation as designers and installers of Grid Connected PV Systems within Australia. Additional courses are offered in Energy Efficiency, Stand-alone Power Systems, Train the Trainer and End-user training.

Training is provided in a flexible environment with self-paced learning through online theory and face-to-face practical training. Wherever possible, student and employer needs are accommodated to optimise learning.

  • Training Facility: Our face to face training facility is located in Botany, Sydney - Details here.
  • Workplace Training: The need for sales staff working in renewable energy to be trained in the fields of technology, its capability and what the end user should know and understand has resulted in GSES developing the Solar Sales Course.
  • Customised Training: As the demand and interest in the renewable energy increase, so has the request for bespoke training to suit the needs of our corporate and community clients.
  • Accreditation: On completion of the appropriate RTO GSES training courses, eligible participants will be awarded a Statement of Attainment in the design and/or installation of grid-connect solar photovoltaic (PV) power systems.
  • Certification: For those students who successfully complete other non-RTO training courses offered by GSES, they will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
Check out our National Training Brochure for more information.

International

GSES solar PV training is aligned with the Institute for Sustainable Power (ISP) a global not for profit organisation responsible for the development of the international framework for accreditation of sustainable energy training programs.

The ISPQ framework requires consistent application, audit and evaluation of:

  1. Accreditation for Training Programs and Continuing Education Providers.
  2. Certification for Independent and Affiliated Master Trainers.
  3. Certification for Instructors.
