Australia
Co-Director of GSES Susan Neill leads the local team in Australia. With 25 years of experience as a clean energy consultant, lecturer, keynote presenter and trainer, Susan actively participates in projects and provides the mentoring and performance standards for her team of engineers to deliver quality outcomes.
Projects
Review of Remote Renewable Power Generation Program (Australia).
Client - Department of Environment and Heritage – Australian Greenhouse Office
GSES partnered to review of the Remote Renewable Power Generation Program (RRPGP) with the objective to develop recommendations for a new Hybrid Rebate Program that was to start in 2007.
Australian Government’s ‘Renewable Energy Workforce Strategy Report’.
Client - Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts (Australian Government).
Scope - Research, Report and Recommend.
GSES co-authored the Australian Government’s Renewable Energy Workforce Strategy Report to 2020. This series of 3 reports released in 2010 was written on behalf of the Clean Energy Council and sought to provide guidance and strategies to ensure that the skills and workforce requirements of the renewable energy industry can be met from 2010 to 2020. The report provided information that will be essential to Renewable Energy training facilities (tertiary, trade, private and corporate) who must anticipate the level of training required across all renewable energy disciplines, the number of trainers required to deliver this training material and the physical facilities they will need.
International
The international consulting team is lead by GSES founder director - Geoff Stapleton. He has travelled extensively for over 15years working with government and NGO’s to facilitate the introduction of solar and renewable energies to working communities in developing nations. A key part of his role as an international consultant is the knowledge and understanding of the specific cultural, social and political environments of each developing region, in particular around South East Asia and Africa.
Projects
Quality Renewable Energy Training China and India.
Client - Department of Environment Water Heritage and the Arts on Behalf of the Asian Pacific Partnership (APP).
Scope - Assess, develop and Implement Training Frameworks.
With the emergence of China and India as 2 of the world’s strongest manufacturing and industrial growth regions, the Australian Government in partnership with regional governments (Asia Pacific Partnership) commissioned GSES to undertake the following:
- China - Establish an ISP office in Beijing to work with the Ministry of Labour and other relevant Chinese Ministries to adopt the ISP framework or establish a new framework for the accreditation of Renewable Energy training in China.
- India - Work in partnership with IT Power India and IT Power Australia to develop the strategy for the implementation of Quality Renewable Energy Training in India for the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
